Merriam, Kansas, USA
The Merriam Plaza Library is part of the Johnson County Library system and opened in 2024 as a new branch replacing the former Antioch Library. The 15,000 sq ft facility features a drive–thru window for returns and holds, abundant natural light, and a variety of meeting and study spaces. Designed by Dake Wells Architecture, the building incorporates a green roof and daylight monitors that draw natural light deep into the interior. Situated on the campus of the Merriam Community Center, the library combines thoughtful design with community accessibility.
Linea Ceiling and Wall Systems contributed custom acoustic Linea Grille drop–in panels, crafted from solid Hemlock VG and backed with both black and white FlexiFelt. This installation adds warmth and texture, providing a striking contrast to the building’s clean architectural lines while enhancing its quiet, serene atmosphere.
